WHAT CAN EASTERN MEDICINE TREAT?

Nearly Everything!

Pain, illness, & basically any problem we encounter is caused by imbalance. Acupuncture's main goal is balance. So it can help with nearly EVERYTHING!

Some of the common reasons we see patients are; pain, headaches, anxiety & sleep issues, digestive problems, stress management, immune support and fertility aid, women's health, and facial rejuvenation.

WHAT ARE SOME TIPS FOR MY FIRST VISIT?

*Come at least 10 minutes early to park & fill out paperwork.
*Turn your phone off or better yet, leave it in the car. We find people are better able to relax without the worry of it ringing and without the extra radiation in their field.
*Refrain from using cologne, perfume, or smoking as we have patients with chemical sensitivities.
*Wear loose fitting clothing. We want you to be comfortable & it allows us easier access to acupuncture points.
*Be respectful of others by keeping your voices down as there are usually others receiving treatments in the clinic.
*It's preferred that you do not have caffeine right before a treatment, but please do have a light snack. And it's best not to schedule heavy exercise directly after a treatment.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER MY FIRST SESSION?

How patients feel following a treatment can vary a lot and they are all normal. Sometimes patients feel immediately better, but often it can take awhile to see changes.
Upon leaving a treatment, many patients feel: sleepy/relaxed, woozy or slightly out of it, increased sensation/ achy in the area that was treated, or possibly energized. These types of symptoms usually disappear within 24 hours. If any sensation feels intense or isn’t subsiding, feel free to give us a call. Typically the positive effects will show up around 24-36 hours after treatment.

HOW MANY APPOINTMENTS WILL I NEED?

Acupuncture can help bring about amazing healing. Please keep in mind it is usually a process. It is rare for any type of practitioner to resolve an issue in one treatment. More often, a series of treatments, beginning with greater frequency & slowly tapering off will be the most effective.

Ideal Treatment Plan
~Phase 1- Balance the acute situation for symptom relief. Come in frequently, usually 2-3 times per week for 4-6 weeks.
~Phase 2- Balance the underlying imbalance for long term healing. Come in once every 1-2 weeks, usually for a couple of months.
~Phase 3- Promote health & maintain balance. Come in once per month or at the least, seasonally for a tune-up.
